Join us this year as we partner withe the city for the Don’t Be An Ope-loser, Be Litter Free Community Clean up event on Saturday, April 13, 2024, 9-11AM at Bandy Park. This anti-litter campaign aims to promote community pride and to unite residents, business, and community organizations in a collective effort to put an end to litter in Opelika!

Don’t Be An Ope-loser, Be Litter Free is a campaign dedicated to creating a cleaner, more beautiful city through community engagement, education and sustainability practices. Look for Opelika’s newest environmental friend, Curby the trashcan, around the city.

Citywide Cleanup is part of a national-wide event called Great American Cleanup, sponsored by Keep America Beautiful. Great American Cleanup is engaged in more than 20,000 communities across the country. Volunteers’ work returns, on average, $100 million in measured benefits across participating communities.

Neighborhoods, businesses, civic clubs, Girl Scouts, school clubs, church groups and others that participate in Citywide Cleanup are given bags, gloves, grabbers and safety vests.
